WIL Student- Nature Conservation
Mongezi was born in 1995 and raised in Nongoma, KwaZulu Natal where he attended school at Queen KaMathathela Primary School and Mlokothwa High School. During high school, he attended a school trip to Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve where he fell in love with nature and the bush life encouraging him to pursue a career in nature conservation. In 2015 he enrolled for a National Diploma in Nature Conservation at Tshwane University of Technology. As part of the diploma, he is required to complete a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) year working in a practical environment. Mongezi was selected for one of two positions for a WIL student at Welgevonden for 2017.
Mongezi has a great interest in the management of mega-fauna and hopes to further his knowledge in this respect especially in the ethology of these animals.
