The 4-star Matingwe Lodge lies adjacent to the larger Welgevonden Game Reserve in the Southwest Waterberg region – vast, peaceful and startlingly beautiful. The superb vistas, mountain gorges, clear streams and rolling bushveld hills are rich in indigenous species of plant and animal life, including the “Big Five”.
Sable, giraffe, zebra, nyala, blesbuck, waterbuck and wildebees have been introduced to the reserve, where they roam free and can be admired from a close distance, providing travellers with a true bushveld experience.
Inside the homely lodge you will find a restaurant and a cosy lounge with a crackling fireplace – perfect for Winter evenings. For outdoor enthusiasts there are plenty activities – Big 5 game drives, fishing, nature walks, star gazing, mountain bike rides, and much more. A swimming pool and lapa promise for fun Summer days together with family and friends. The lodge’s location makes it perfect for long picnics, packed especially for you.
