Pitse Lodge is situated in the malaria-free 37000 hectare Welgevonden
Private Game Reserve in the Limpopo Province. Welgevonden forms part of the spectacular Waterberg Region and borders on
the Marakele National Park.
The lodge can accommodate 10 people, with 5 luxurious stone and thatch
houses, all with en-suite bathrooms, outside showers and their own private
wooden decks. Two of the units are joined by an entrance hall, ideally
suited to families with children.
Lion, elephant, white rhino, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, eland, kudu and
many other species of game occur in the area. There are occasional sightings
of leopard and cheetah. Welgevonden has an extensive bird and plant species
list. In the Pitse area there are unique populations of blue cranes,
secretary birds and Cape Vultures. The lodge is well known for its large
presence of white rhino, which often graze very close to the lodge.
- Daily game drives are arranged to suit you.
- Day trips can be arranged into other areas of the park as well as
the Marakele National Park where you can visit the breeding camps of
the endangered roan and sable antelope.
- All meals are prepared by our chef at the lodge. The freshest
produce is used and we make use of organic herbs and vegetables from
our own garden, wherever possible.
